Nanofibers are ultra-thin fibers with diameters typically ranging from a few nanometers to micrometers. These fibers offer exceptional properties, including high surface area, superior mechanical strength, and enhanced flexibility, making them ideal for a wide range of applications.
The first layer is prepared with chitosan and gives a burst release of tranexamic acid and thyme oil. The first phase of wound healing is hemostasis, which lasts 1-2 hours. Tranexamic acid stops the bleeding, and thyme oil has antimicrobial action in the hemostasis phase.
The second layer is prepared with an alginate/PVP combination loaded with curcumin. The second phase of wound healing is inflamation, which starts after the hemostasis and lasts up to 6 days. The second layer gives us controlled release for 6 days. Curcumin has antiinflamatory action.
The third layer of the nanofiber is prepared with a PVP/PCL combination loaded with Hypericum perforatum oil and Centella asiatiaca extract. The third phase of the wound healing is proliferation, which starts on the 4th day and lasts up to the 21st day. On the third phase, cell preoliferation is increased, and at the end of the phase, the wound is closed. The third layer gives us controlled release lasting to 14th day.
